Invasive Species and Supernovas

IMG_2826Earth day passed last week and in celebration many people went out and did something for the environment. In the SF Bay area, some people were pulling French broom – an invasive plant with lovely yellow flowers. Although it has taken a strong hold and it sometimes seems like a losing battle, people just keep pulling. I talk about weeds and human determination in an article for Bay Nature called French Broom and an Earth Day message of Resilience.

Sun_in_X-RayOn a completely different note, a Guru reader wanted to know what would happen if the sun exploded and when we might know about it. I consulted the science on stars and assuaged his fears.
